The Tropical Rotabasco Red Hot Pepper originated from the Tabasco Hot Pepper generations ago that found its way to the Mariana Islands. On the island of Rota, it ended up evolving into the Rotabasco Red Hot Pepper with its own distinct hotness and flavour. Locally used for dip sauce (fresh squeezed lemon juice, diced onions & garlic, soy sauce & Rotabasco Red Hot Pepper), spicy hot stir fried chicken, sashimi and other dishes.

Rotabasco Red Hot Pepper plants grow 2′ – 5′ ft. tall and can be quite bushy; easy to grow, and grows well in containers. Plant seeds 1/4″ – 1/2″ inch deep into well-drained porous soil in 2″ – 4″ inch cups; moisten soil and place in sunny to partly sunny spot and water regularly in dry weather until seeds sprout within a week. Transplant to ground or larger pot in sunny to partly sunny spot once seedlings outgrow its planting cups. Protect from frost and extremely cold weather.
