Psidium guajava

Picked fresh from guava trees grown in our farms, we offer freshly extracted seeds of the Psidium guajava tropical fruit. This is the guava variety commercially cultivated in Hawaii for processing fruit juice, jams, jellies and deserts.

Our farm grown guava trees originated as seeds brought from the Big Island of Hawaii, sometime around 1990, which has been producing sweet smelling fruits high in iron and far exceeding the Vitamin C content in oranges. Fruit ripens to a yellow color, inner fruit is pink and skin is thin walled. Sweet picking & eating right off the tree; fruit ripening on tree can be smelled from a distance. Another great tropical fruit tree addition to any garden, yard or farm.

A tropical / subtropical fruit tree, guava is easy to grow but frost sensitive and requires warm climate. Plant seed in 2″ – 4″ inch cup / bag, 1/2″ inch deep into porous well-drained soil and place in partly sunny to sunny spot until seed germinates in about 20 – 30 days. Transplant into larger 1/2 – 1 gallon pot / bag as soon as seedling outgrow planting cup / bag or when roots show signs of exiting drain hole. When plant reaches 1′ – 2′ ft. in height, they are ready to be transplanted into ground or large pot (10 gals.+) under full sun. Maturity and fruit bearing attainable anywhere from 3 – 5 years.

Seeds packed fresh on date of purchase with planting instructions included. Planting information assistance is gladly provided on request.
