Artocarpus marianensis

Locally known as “dokdok”, the Artocarpus marianensis is a local staple or snack. Its nut is high in carbohydrates and protein, and a good source of minerals and vitamins, including Vitamin A. The low-fat seed or nut is eaten after being boiled or roasted, or the nuts can be baked in the ripened breadfruit over fire or by oven.

Closely related to the seedless breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis), the Artocarpus marianensis is a massive fast growing evergreen tree reaching heights up to 65′ to 80′ feet. Good for soil stabilization, over-story or home garden but plant away from the house.

Requires tropical climate and will not grow where temperature drops below 41*F. It should grow well wherever the seedless breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) is grown.

Seeds packed fresh on date of purchase with planting instructions included. Planting information assistance is gladly provided on request.
