Annona squamosa

Also known as sweetsop, sugar apple, atis, etc., fruit is white and creamy, sweet and tasty, high in iron and a good addition to any yard, garden or farm. The best tasting of all annonas.

A tropical / sub-tropical fruit tree, it can survive temperatures as low as 28F if protected during winters / frost; bears fruit in as little as 2 – 3 years. Easy to grow fruit tree that can reach 10 – 20 ft; can also be grown in pots; preferably 20 gallons and up.

Grown in our farms for generations, we offer freshly picked seeds per packet extracted from sizable fruits. Seed germinates in approx. 30 days. Plant seed 1″ inch deep in porous well-draining soil in 3″- 4″ inch planter cup, or 1 quart to 1/2 gallon pot / bag. From the 3″- 4″ inch planter, transplant to 1/2 – 1 gallon pot / bag when seedling outgrow planter, and allow to grow for 6 to 12 months until it reaches 12″ to 18″ inches in height before transplanting to ground or very large pot. There are many planting styles and techniques.

Since root system extending beyond 4 inch planter cup, transplanted 4 inch tall Annona squamosa seedlings into 1 gallon plastic bags. Set in area that will receive lots of sun and let seedlings grow until transplant ready at over 1 foot tall and bag fully rooted. Will wait for the raining season to arrive before transplanting to farm.
